Why does the boat owner require a deposit?

For "no captain" charters, the owner may ask you for a deposit. Although the deposit amount may vary from boat to boat, you can see the amount on the boat detail page.

In charters without a captain, you are responsible for the boat. Boat owners request a deposit before boarding the boat for damages that may occur during the tour. If there is no damage to the boat after the rental, your deposit will be refunded.
